Dr. Kam attended Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate work. He received his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. His residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease were both completed at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Kam subsequently was in private practice in the Pittsburgh area for more than five years before moving to Northern Virginia in 2002 to join Drs. O’Brien and Schwartz. Dr. Kam is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and is certified both in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. His clinical interests include consultive cardiology and all aspects of echocardiography.
Dr. Kam has additional expertise and board certification in Nuclear Cardiology. He serves as Director of the Nuclear Laboratory for Cardiology Specialists of Virginia, PC. An additional area of special interest for Dr. Kam is exercise training and physiology. He competed in cross-country and track in college and remains a competitive runner in the local running scene. As a member of the Potomac Runners running club he can frequently be seen running the trails of Alexandria and Arlington. Dr. Kam is also an active chamber musician.
